Critical Insights Consulting takes great pride in helping to impact community change. No matter
the size of the community, we are dedicated to working with you to develop meaningful
programs to meet your needs. Take a look at our work.
Knowledge is Power: Navigating Traffic Citations and the Court System
Knowledge is Power was created three years ago to educate 9 th and 10 th grade students
about the Do’s and Don’ts of getting pulled over by a police officer and what to do when
interacting with a judge. School resource officers, trained by CIC, teach the classes,
which are tied to driver’s education classes. On occasion, a court administrator or judge
are also invited to educate the students on what to expect in a court room. This program is
unique because it is based on your city, town or school and can be modified to address
violations relevant to your community.
Policing and Me
Policing and Me was recently created to teach 11 th and 12 th grade students about the Bill
of Rights in an applied perspective. School resource officers, trained by CIC, teach the
classes, which are tied to economics and government classes. This program gives
students an opportunity to ask questions about personal or fictional scenarios of best
practices for dealing with incidents that impact their rights. This program also helps
address misconceptions about police officers and various populations within a
community. Furthermore, it gives officers insightful information and feedback about
potential feelings and actions to consider when handling real-life situations in the future.
The Mind Matters
The Mind Matters is a new program designed for 5th , 7th , 9th , and 11th graders to minimize violence within the school system and the community. The program is taught by a school resource officer, trained by CIC, with the goal of helping young students better understand self in terms of the following: Self Awareness, Self Management, Self Worth and Self Respect. The foundation of the program is to shift the MINDSET of students to a more positive, healthier view of self and others. As a result, it helps ensure the safety of each student both mentally and physically.
For example, when students exhibit risk taking, unhealthy dangerous behaviors such as bullying (being bullied), inappropriate posts on social media, fighting, sexting, etc., recovery mechanisms are taught during each session to help minimize the probability of students turning to other dangerous perceived coping mechanisms. Most importantly, students learn proactively how their thinking truly affects their behavior.
WeCare License Assistance Program
The WeCare License Assistance Program is primarily designed to assist individuals in
getting their license re-instated through educating them on the process. Many people have
their license suspended for failing to appear in court after they have received a ticket.
Individuals, that meet eligibility requirements, quickly learn they can drive again without
fear, monetary cost, and/or jail time by temporarily securing a hardship license until “all”
driving privileges are reinstated. This program is not only a win-win for defendants, but
for judges, officers and the community.
